Combating ISIS With Drones

quadcopter drones

The United States and Russia want more modern aircraft. But Ukraine does not have the necessary resources to train their soldiers in these types of aircraft. Although the Ukrainians have received training in Western countries such as Germany on vehicles and aircraft, they cannot receive the same training in Ukraine on drones. Ukrainians are used to using older equipment like trucks, and drones are easier to use for them. Drones are easy to use by soldiers, as they do not require pilots. Drones also have an easy to use interface, much like those found in video games.

Aerorozvidka

Ukrainian military uses an unusual approach to fighting ISIS in east Ukraine. Octocopters are equipped with thermal cameras and can be used for night-time missions. Some drones have anti-tank weapons, and can light up columns. These drones can carry up to 11 lbs worth of payload and are extremely maneuverable. Small size allows drones to fly low over targets, dropping munitions.

Originally an IT enthusiast group, Aerorozvidka has become a military air reconnaissance unit. Although the organization started as a civil drone company, it grew into a fully-fledged unit with its head. Export controls prevented Russian military aircraft entering Ukraine. Aerorozvidka relies heavily on crowdfunding and donations for its continued existence, since many of the components used in drones are made in America.

Switchblade

The U.S. military supplies Ukraine with "Switchblade", armed drones that can strike Russian tanks far away. These unmanned aerial vehicles were designed by the US Air Force as a response to Ukrainian demands. John Kirby, a Pentagon spokesperson, stated that more than 120 of these machines are currently being sent to Ukraine. There is not yet any information about how the Switchblades are used in the conflict with Ukraine.

The Switchblade is a small drone with a 40-kilometer range. It can be launched from a tube. The Switchblade can hit Russian convoys from 6 miles away, unlike Bayraktar drones. These small aircraft can easily be assembled in minutes for a conflict such as Ukraine. The Switchblade has a much higher speed than the Bayraktar, the current U.S. allies.

Russian kamikaze drones

The US recently announced a military aid package worth $800 million to Ukraine. Part of that package is the delivery of 121 unmanned aircraft, called "Phoenix Ghosts," which are intended to terrorize Russian forces. These aircraft, which are designed to fly over areas for thirty to forty minutes, are equipped with warheads and cameras. Switchblade, a hovering munition of 5.5 pounds that can kill tanks and armored cars, is an example.

These small, light aircrafts come equipped with a powerful, low flight gimbal which allows them to operate from either air, ground, or water. A conflict like this is where every advantage one side has over the other in an aerial battle is critical. Russian kamikaze helicopters are a direct threat. This capability is crucial for Ukraine's military because it can easily break Russian sieges, and attack command-and controller nodes. This capability would be a big liability for both parties, but Ukraine could emerge victorious if a small drone makes a difference on battlefield.

U.S. loitering Drones

Russia began integrating ZALA KYB lotering munitions into its military arsenal. These drones are able to use lethal loitering munitions in the manner of bazookas. This could lead to the proliferation these autonomous killing machines on black markets. But experts and observers are worried. So what can the U.S. Do to prevent this?

Kirby says that more than 121 Switchblade drones have been sent by the U.S. to Ukraine to assist Kiev in fighting Russian forces. The Switchblade drone can hover in a given area for between 30 and 40 minutes. It weighs in at 5.5 pounds. It's equipped with a camera. It has the mission to take down opposition forces in Ukraine.

How To

Repairing A Damaged Drone Motor

The first step toward repairing a damaged motor is to identify what part of the motor is broken. The easiest way to do this is to remove the propeller from the motor shaft. Then you should remove any wires attached to the motor and look at the inner workings of the motor itself. If there is something wrong with the motor, you will know which part you need to repair.

If the motor has not been damaged, it is safe to fly again.

Imagine a motor that isn't turning anymore because it has been bent. The motor must be bent again. You could use a vice grip or a pair of pliers to hold the motor while bending it back into shape. After you've completed the above, ensure that you inspect the motor for signs and wear.

Once you are satisfied with everything, mount the propeller on the motor shaft. Reattach the wires. Your drone is now ready for flight!
