How To

What is a "Battery Pack" and how can it be replaced?

The main power source for your drone's motors is the battery pack. They provide enough power that your quadcopter can fly safely and smoothly.

You won't notice any differences between the battery packs in a new drone and the one you have before. But, over time, your battery pack will slowly become worn down. Eventually, it might stop working altogether. To make sure that your drone is still functioning properly, you will need to replace its battery.

It's better to use the original battery pack when replacing it. Otherwise, you risk damaging your drone by installing a faulty battery pack.

To replace a battery pack, follow these steps:

  1. Disconnect the battery connector cable. This will prevent your drone from receiving any electric current. Simply pull the cable from the drone to disconnect the battery connector.
  2. Unscrew the battery. Remove the battery pack from your quadcopter's bottom. The battery pack usually comes apart into two pieces.
  3. Locate the battery contacts. After you have taken the battery pack out, look for the contact points. These tiny metal pins connect to the battery and other components of the drone.
  4. Next, attach the new battery. Next, insert the new battery into your drone. Align the connectors for the battery pack on each side. Next, place the battery pack on the drone. Once this is done, tighten your bolts to secure the battery pack.
  5. Reattach the battery connector cables. After installing the new batteries, connect the battery connector to the drone.
  6. Test the drone. Make sure your drone is still working properly before you take it out again. If it does, congratulations!
